What is in my handbag for September?

This month my handbag is filled with useful and sometimes random bits and pieces. It has been a busy few weeks with many birthdays (including my own) and a disproportionately large number of gifts to be wrapped and cupcakes to be baked. Here is what I have for September:

1. Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede Cologne

Last week I indulged in a Jo Malone Luxury Facial and just had to take some of the experience home with me so I splashed out on their latest fragrance called Peony & Blush Suede. It is light, bright and beautiful and a perfect day-time cologne. I am down to my last few spritzes of the Limited Edition Jo Malone Plum Blossom so this new fragrance purchase is just in time.

What I love about Jo Malone is that you can create your own signature scent by blending and layering a couple (or more) of their fragrances and there you go!

2. Body Shop Shimmer Waves

I have seen this product in countless magazines over the years and it is often on Beauty Editor’s lists. The waves of colour allow you to add darker or lighter hues to your cheeks depending on the season or just apply an overall glow by dusting you blusher brush across all the waves. I still use my bronzer for a bit of definition and then apply a sweep of the Body Shop Shimmer Waves to add another dimension to my makeup routine. Bring on the Glam Glow!

3. Munchkin Flip Lock Straw cup

Somehow Bug has progressed to the straw stage of drinking and skipped the traditional sippy cup. The problem with this is that a little kid drinking out of a straw can result in their drink spilling all over the place. Most sippy cups have a no-spill mechanism making it easy to transport you child’s favourite drink with you wherever you go. But what to do when you child has preference for a straw? The Munchkin Flip Lock Straw Cup flicks closes to make sure that there is no spillage and if by chance it is dropped whilst unlocked there is very little spillage. Also, the design of the cup makes it easy for little hands to hold. As Munchkin says “It’s the little things”.

4. Sainsbury’s Gold and Silver sprinkles

As mentioned, September is a big birthday month in our home and I have baked a helluva lot of cupcakes in the past couple of weeks. I will be happy not to see a Betty Crocker cake mix for a while. Nevertheless, I do enjoy baking and had heaps of fun decorating the tiny cakes. Walk down the baking aisle in your local supermarket you’ll be amazed at how many wonderful decorations there are for cakes. These Gold and Silver sprinkles from Sainsbury’s are totally Glam and have been carted around in my GLAMbag to dress up a cupcake here and there.

5. Scotch Satin Finish Giftwrap tape

I am a huge fan of beautifully wrapped gifts and I am always looking for quick and easy ways to do things. And I have found a tool that addresses both these points and more. It has a smooth finish and disappears once stuck down. It is also very easy to tear and is secure. Goodbye to glossy sticky tape that sticks to everything but the paper.

6. Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector

This is one of my all-time favourites at the moment. I recently decided to make a change to Clarins skin care products after years with another great brand. Whilst stocking up on all the necessities, I spied this little number. This ‘Natural Lip Perfector’ goes on sheer and comes in an array of colours that look natural with a hint of colour. It is a smooth gel-like and tastes slightly sweet. If you are going to treat yourself to something this month, let it be this great lip gloss. My colour is 05 (which happens to be my lucky number). You can get this Clarins gem from Selfridges.

What do you have in your GLAMbag this month?
