Flicking though the May 2013 edition of British Vogue got me thinking about how some of the outfits worn by the models on the glossy pages resembled some of the outfits hanging in my little Bug’s wardrobe.
Now I am not shy of a little dress up now and again but how much awesome would it be to recreate designer looks found in the fashion bible for my little tot.
I immediately picked out two striking looks and set about thinking of ways to dress my Bug in matching ensembles. You see, babies too can be ‘en vogue‘ as well as dress as well as the models ‘in Vogue’ magazine.
As seen in Vogue: Marc by Marc Jacobs – Bella Striped Trapeze Dress
This dress was from the 2011 Spring/Summer runway and it silk fabric allows it to billow the way that it does.
As seen at home: J by Jasper Conran – Designer Babies Navy Striped Dress
This dress was a gift from Bug’s granny on her father’s side. Granny just loves stripes and navy and it is so ‘en vogue‘. She has worn it to two weddings so far and I’m sure this dress will be handed down to all her glam cousins/siblings in the future. Similar dresses can be found at Debenhams.
As seen in Vogue: Gucci – Spring/Summer 2013 white dresses
These gorgeous white dresses have only just been showcased in Milan. The fluid white outfits are offset by gorgeously detailed coral jewellry. To die for! See the entire Spring/Summer 2013 Gucci collection.
As seen at home: H&M– white cotton dress
I bought this dress from H&M in a sale when Bug was an itty bitty baby. We travel back to South Africa as often as possible and the seasons are the opposite to the UK so I have to stock up on season-appropriate outfits when I can.
I strung my Carnelian necklace that I bought from the streets of Mumbai around her neck to finish off the outfit. Please note that this was only for the purpose of this photo and I would never leave her alone with them.
