Towards the end of last week something on Twitter caught my eye – a mention of DVF for kids. Oh my giddy aunt, I froze. A quick Google search revealed that Gap kids had just launched a DVF range.
For the uneducated, DVF (Diane von Furstenburg) is one of the top names in fashion. She created the iconic wrap dress in the early 1970‘s and her signature prints are bold and eye-catching. Her collections have been seen on the likes of Olivia Palermo, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria and even the Duchess of Cambridge.
If there is one thing you need in your wardrobe, hanging next to your little black dress, is a DVF wrap dress.
Back to the kids range:
The “DVF loves Gap” range was launched on 25 April 2013. It is the second collaboration between DVF and Gap, the last one being in March 2012.
The current range is a limited edition “Explorers Collections” is just so sweet and I could not wait to get my little Bug into some of the kids clobber.
Naturally, a few days I was in the largest Gap store I could get to and began to browse. I was followed closely by hubby navigating out little Bug and her buggy through the tables of shirts and rails of jeans. “There!” I pointed towards a collection of bright and bold kids clothes.
A passing shop assistant informed me that the items were limited stock and would NEVER go on sale. Thats it, I decided, we need to choose carefully as each outfit was so tempting. My husband and I set about choosing pieces in different sizes so that she will have a DVF piece every summer until she is 6 (unfortunately the sizing only goes up to 6).
One of the advantages of a buggy when shopping is that it can take a LOAD of garments so you are not limited by your own mere arm strength. And with that said, off to the checkout we trotted as chuffed as two chiuaua’s with the new outfits.
But that was not the end of the excitement… There are even limited edition DVF carrier bags.
What we chose for our little Bug:
